But even then, shortly before he died, Lee dismissed JKD as an art form. He found his ultimate truth in that the true meaning of martial arts was not in a form, or style, but in individual journey. He felt that naming oneself under a 'style' put a barrier around the person, making them inflexible to the vast uniqueness of man, and it would ultimately damage them in confrontation. He believed you should use only that which works, and take it from wherever you can get it.

Seriously, read up on him some more. He was a pretty fascinating guy.
