Re: Yet another UN Scandal

Rak,

IF countries abided by UN Resolutions, IMO, the world would be a better place, starting with and ending with compliance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Here's something:

Kosovo - UN Security Council - Global Policy Forum

and another:

UNHCR - The UN Refugee Agency

The tricky thing is - if the US/UK flout the UN, then why should lessor countries comply? The UN is only as strong as its membership (ie its weakest link - like any chain/organisation) and is 'biggest' members (pun intended) can veto anything that is not in their national interest.

Here's a suugestion then - should there be no security council, and members votes have equal status, the majority wins and the loser, if they refuse to comply, faces sanctions/war
