The one member, one vote system would rely on global majority, not 5 states deciding the fate of the world, therefore resulting in less damage rather than more. Surely a good thing? Foz I think the Security Council represents the powers of the world and in a sense it seems to me to be based on pragmatism ahead of anything else.
