Much of what Tillman and Lynch have stated is based on media accounts, not official military sources. Where the military made a mistake in reporting on Tillmans death, it was corrected, but the media has already run with it. A football player who throws off millions to become an elite soldier and die heroically is a sensational story, as was Lynchs story. The military released a video of her rescue, they did not tell the media to talk about it for a week and turn her into a hero. Find me official sources in the military that sensationalized their stories and I might agree with you. But there is no evidence of that as of yet, as that article explains.
