It isn't really true, there have been stories circulating around about protein complementation and such, but they're nonsense. Eating a wide variety of plant foods will give a person superior nutrition. I've been a vegan for more than 27 years now and I am in excellent health. For many years I was an ultra-marathoner, but a foot injury sidelined me so now I ride a bicycle.
