Re: Trans Fats

@ Eric, Agreed. I eat fruits and veggies everyday, buy organic and all natural products for a lot of other choices as well. I drink plenty of water and exercise. However, what right does the government have to tell a business what they can and can't use? What if I decide to treat myself once or twice a year to some greasy meal just for personal satisfaction? Should it not be available if one is willing to sell it?
Fats taken in more than moderate use can be bad, even Mono and Polyunsaturated fats (the "good" fats). Trans Fat ARE especially bad, but we can't put a government regulation of things that could be unhealthy. To compare putting poison in foods to Trans fat is not the same.

Even then, if a person would like to purchase a tool with which to commit suicide, should he not be allowed that right? I know it goes against the socialist idea that the government owns the people it governs, but come on.

Re: Trans Fats

Ya’ll need to remember how many transfats the populace actually consumes. Some of us go to McDonalds like once in 2 or three months. I really don’t think health is the reasoning behind this legislation.

Re: Trans Fats

Some of whom? I don't think I follow where you're going.

I see people come to my work and school with fast food all of the time, practically everyday. The parking lots of those places are never near empty.

Re: Trans Fats

just what we need. the government getting into our faces regards what we ingest..yea whatever.....so, I guess french frys and knishes are out at the NY City hall cafeteria?

Talk about a slippery slope. The libs love shoving that crap out their media horn when it applies to the Patriot act regards erosion of civil rights...wheres the ACLU now?
