Re: Will you marry working woman?

We've got ourselves in a bit of a quandary anymore; Most women work and the more women work the greater percentage of women need to work regardless of what anyone may want. We're adjusting. You will too. I've only made more money than my husband (while he is employed), one time. It was a little awkward for him. However, I am financially independent and he really appreciates that. It provides stability for the family and takes some pressure off of my husband. I'm a really good mother and would like to stay home but it is too great a risk.

I've been in a situation similar to the OP, and it might have worked out except for the 'no kids' aspect of things. Wife #2 doesn't make as much as me, but has at least double my net worth from inheritance. I find it's good to have a financially independent wife - Much less potential for disputes over money, and I'm still the one who fixes things, does the grilling, kills the spiders, etc, so I'm not concerned about my masculinity. Overall, JHC has it right that we, as a society, have the same problems he mentions, tho to a lesser extent. Individually, tho, it's all about finding somebody who shares your values, goals, interests, and attitudes (or at least has some in common and few to none that actively Conflict with yours) and tries to do what is best for you. That's more important than who makes how much, has how many degrees, or any other superficial measures.

Re: Will you marry working woman?
I wouldn't mind marrying a woman who worked. (Though not a prostitute... I read a book about a guy who married a prostitute: "The Honorable Consul"... good book... but I digress)

Re: Will you marry working woman?
Man, I wouldn't ever marry someone who wasn't a career woman. I would have it no other way. An independent and confident woman is a lot more attractive to me than someone who is too dependent and wants to just be at home.
I like the way working women look when they fix themselves up before heading out to work. Plus two incomes is certainly better than one; and if my wife makes more money than me (which she does), I'm absolutely fine with it as long as pride doesn't become an issue. I'm very proud of my wife. But if she ever quits working, we'll get a divorce.

Re: Will you marry working woman?
very interesting.it seems this issue being the global issue today.Hahaindeed,in China, such as Bei Jing,Shang Hai,Guang Zhou,Shen Zhen...modern cities.more and more working woman are single: because no man marry them...and their(working woman) wish find a man better than her,but most rich man don't like working woman, they need a wife who likes stay at home, but not a woman like work as like her life... in China, the Law eastblish male should marry after 23 years old(in that age,it's easy to born a smart baby).but in this city, most woman more than 30 years old,but still single: the rich man don't like marry them; the ordinary man hold them off, because they are self-contemptuous when they face excellent woman; working woman is a lonesome group.indeed

Re: Will you marry working woman?
I got this from an article(200 thousands single office woman worry about their marriage: http://blog.sina.com.cn/myblog/artic...0005jw)Chinese working woman point: why do i keep single?
1,man is questionable, they always being bad if they have money.if i am independent on subject economica, then i can control man: i needn't worry my man being bad.so i'd rather be an economically woman than marry an ordinary man. 2.I am so excellent,I can't accept an ordinary man.I should find a man who is as excellent as me.and i am so busy,I should compete with others,if i get married and born baby, then maybe i will lost this good job,so i can'tget marry; 3,Shen Zhen is an imigrate city, the citizen from everwhere of China.most young man have no house, car, much money(in this city, the avrage age is 26,it's difficutl to find old man here)....if i marry me,i can't get happniess from him. 4,some women who got divorce.they are hopeless.they are too reality, they don't believe man anymore. but in this artiels, the arthor said,80% single woman have harmonious sex life, although they have no husband.there are many playboy around them,

Re: Will you marry working woman?
Hehe, prostitute better than corrupt officials.we ordinary Chinese regard prostitute highly, but we hate corrupt officials, because prostitute's money is clean, she made it by 'working',but corrupt officials' money is dirty, who knows how do they get so much money.

Re: Will you marry working woman?
I don't mind either way- although it was a good thing that my wife was working when I was in school and not being paid! Now we both get paid, and still work out little tails off, and the housework gets done between us and the kids. But when I finish this residency and get a real job, if she wanted to stay home that would be fine. (She probably won't)
