Re: British Airways Forbids Crosses But Allows Muslim and Hindu Symbols
I made my point but you didn't get it. No sunshine I suppose.

What I am claiming is that wrapping oneself in headgear, scarves or whatever, is usually a political statement and is NOT a religious symbol when worn by non-clergy. For example, this head band is for syle and perhaps to keep hair in place: ![]() This is political headgear of Terrorists for politics: ![]() Again, a hat for entertainment and to keep the sun out: ![]() And headgear worn for political reasons:

That's interesting. So, when people go skiing, they are making a political statement if they cover their ears and mouths? You socialists certainly have some wacky ways of making points, I'll give you that. But, hey, different strokes for different political idealogies, I suppose.

Re: British Airways Forbids Crosses But Allows Muslim and Hindu Symbols
Don't we use the words religion and politics just about interchanably in the Muslim world these days? Heck, some would argue we're heading that way in the states too.

Re: British Airways Forbids Crosses But Allows Muslim and Hindu Symbols
Come on now, I don't think that you're anti-American. Just because you favor the abolition of private property doesn't mean that you don't like America. You simply have a rather off-beat view of how she should be run. Personally, I'm not here to judge - you don't have to deny your socialism for my sake.

Re: British Airways Forbids Crosses But Allows Muslim and Hindu Symbols
I'm no theologian, so please do correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that the Sikh religion Requires a turban to be worn. By some interpretations and/or at some levels of orthodoxy, other religions require other garb, such as yamulkas, burkas, etc (sp?). I don't recall anything in the bible Requiring the open wearing of a crucifix. As such, they are limiting dress options while allowing those that are a religious Requirement. (This above and beyond the jewelry vs clothing arguement, which I thought was sufficient in itself.)
(Sorry if this was already mentioned - I read thru 3 pages of this topic before I got tired and jumped to the end.)

Personal attacks? I just said that I didn't think you were anti-American and you think you're being attacked? Why do you hate America?

I do however, use imagry as a powereful tool to deliver a message. Like comparing a Crucifix to a wrap around, one is religious the other is politics.

Re: British Airways Forbids Crosses But Allows Muslim and Hindu Symbols
So what is you repeatedly referring to "leftists" as "anti-American"? Your earlier post made it clear that you think being anti-American is good, but now you've contradicted yourself, so I'm not sure what to make of it. Either you're anti-American or you are making personal attacks. Which one is it?

Re: British Airways Forbids Crosses But Allows Muslim and Hindu Symbols
This comparison of things allowed and not allowed is strange. I don't suppose they allow a swimming pool on the plane either. How about bathing suits??? The fact is that they don't allow jewelry to be displayed by their attendants. PERIOD. The cross is a form of jewelry so also would be a Star of David as a pin or pendent.
