More PC tomfollery

PC bytes from around the horn….

Minneapolis intl airport has decreed that its muslim taxi drivers are by passing folks who are carrying alcohol….you see complaints have been rolling from irate flyers looking for cabs, about being passed by or refused rides by what appeared to be African/arab taxi cab drivers ( please no stereo types )…..anyway, it appears that the investigation revealed that the drivers who some of which were devout Muslims and did not believe in alcohol usage, refused to pick up people who appeared, to have bottles of alcohol bought from the duty free shops ( bagged in clear plastic bags..)…so, the Minneapolis intl. airport taxi authority sided with the drivers, and has now commanded that the drivers who will NOT pick up persons carrying alcohol will display a specially colored light on their cab.

One frequent flyer, a female, was recorded to have responded to news of the ruling: “ and what if they want my head covered next”? Yes indeed…

In British prisons there has been a row over the flying of the British national flag….and whatever particular British agency owns the ruling, has decided that indeed they will be banned…why? Because Muslim inmates object to the cross of st. George as it’s incorporated into the national flag….

Sandra Day O’ Connor, decides as chamberlain or “chambermistress” of William Mary, that a “CHAPEL” is not an appropriate place for a cross. Yea..that fits her…..

In most jurisdictions, taxis are licensed, being a public utility of sorts. A far more reasonable approach would be that any taxi driver may refuse alcohol in their cab, but such drivers may not pick people up at the airport. In most jurisdictions, airport runs are among the most lucrative - Drivers who feel so strongly about drinking should be willing to put their money where their mouth is rather than forcing passengers to suffer their closed-mindedness.

Re: More PC tomfollery

Maybe the duty free shops will start bagging up the booze in brown paper sacks like the corner store does cans of beer.

What a bunch of doofuses! Are they afraid the liquor will spill out and accidentally go into thier mouth or something? I hope NFL stars don't have the "pigskin" football with 'em when they get into that cab. Uh oh! Are the cabbies going to start inspecting people's bags to make sure they don't have any pork rinds or bacon cheeseburgers in thier possession? And those Gideon bibles! Those are all over the hotels where a cab might have to take people. I hope no one knocks one out an open window and it lands on a cab!

There was a church with a bell tower “I believe in Texas” that rang on Sunday for almost a hundred years. It could be heard at a 3 year old Muslim mosk and was ordered silenced. You tell me what’s up.

So now you're going to dig up ancient threads and post unfounded claims? What purpose does this serve, exactly?

You would think the airport would want to avoid the bad press, but then again the bad press would be them discriminating against Muslims wouldn’t it.
My daughter has to stop what she’s doing to ring up pork and sterilize the conveyer to accommodate them. They kill us in there country.
