It's not likely, the teachings of Jesus are extaordinarily difficult to practice in real life, that's why so few Christians actually do it. Loving one's neighbor as yourself, turning the other cheek, returining good for evil, etc. are much more difficult and less satisfying to the average human than the kick ass and take names approach of the old testament.

I do want to clear something up that I think got confused. If you go back and read my statements to which you first addressed, you'll see that I did not ever say that gays are the haters, all gays hate, or anything of the like. Here's what I said:

So, it was "extremist left wing Christian-bashing liberals" are who I was criticizing as haters, not gays.
I think maybe your mix-up came because I made another point that it's a stereotype to suggest that homosexuals are by the nature of being such, more tolerant or loving or better people. I still stand by that. As any homosexual would probably want recognized, gays are people too. Whether I approve of their lifestyle or not, they're human beings like you and me. And to disregard their human nature is not any more fair than to go chaining them to fences and beating them, now is it?
I was responding to your statement (above, bolded and underlined) as being in reference to me personally since I have been called that very thing by others. In fact I am a transsexual who has been attacked by the Christian community every place I have lived based on nothing but my birth defect. The Christian majority in this country is using the power of their numbers to force their religious beliefs into law despite the fact that 1) they have NO proof that their religious tenets are correct and 2) they are discriminating against people like me because they are so abysmally ignorant that they cannot tell a transsexual from a homosexual--and they seem adamant about maintaining that ignorance.

I do outreach in the trans-community and I see the damage being done by the people who call themselves "Christians". I am sickened to see the excellent teachings of Jesus being perverted into a pogrom of hate and violence that is destroying the lives of people who are in a tiny minority and cannot fight back. I have a friend who was born with a penis and a vagina, one undescended testicle and one underdeveloped ovary. Her parents wanted a son, so they had the doctors sew up her vagina at birth and they raised her as a boy. In Junior High School she started to grow breasts she said she was a girl, her fundamentalist Christian parents beat her, the boys at school beat her, and eventually she ran away from Texas searching for safety. She is sort of half and half male/female so she couldn't pass as either one very well and this led to people recognizing that she was different and condemning her for being a "fucking queer". She got beat up a lot by men, the pattern was that some of them would corner her and hit her with their fists till she fell to the ground and then they would kick her unconscious. She has a permanent back injury, damaged kidneys, and no front teeth due to these beatings. The climate of hate towards gay and trans-people in this country is based on and justified by the Bible.

Gay and trans-people are just people, with all the same faults as everyone else and they do not deserve the storm of abuse being visited upon them in this country by people who claim to be "Christians". Have a nice day.

That wasn't a chain-wide problem, though. Certainly, there were Denny's restaurants which didn't treat blacks poorly.

Besides, they've got better biscuits & gravy than IHOP does...
