I’m not certain it was a partisan decision, but not allowing weapons in the dome was not exactly confiscation. They could leave them at home. They simply weren’t allowed in the dome or busses.

The National Guard was going door to door and confiscating guns all over the city. The NRA sued to make them give some of them back but many others they kept.

Back in the bad old days - pre-tazer - cops avoided physical confrontation at great length because it meant THEY had to get physical. A regular patrolman had to consider that every citizen had the potential to be equally armed.

With the advent of tazers, there is little insentive to avoid using it. It has become a tool to fight civil disobedience. Like the kid in the UCLA library or the man on our local news who argued, (no touching involved), with a cop about returning to his barrier island home after a hurricane and was tazered in front of his kids and a hundred other residents lined up on the bridge to go home. No one seems to think that's a big deal.

A cop came to my daughter's high school to talk about crime prevention. He showed the students the tazer and told them that he would not hesitate to use it on any one of them...so, like...straighten up and fly right I guess.

If the weapon in the article is real and it's practical use comes to fruition, there is little doubt in my mind that it would travel the same path as the tazer. And no one would much complain.

That was a DOJ thing far more than Clinton and the Katrina Siezures were FEMA. Why would you think that I would think Katrina is specifically anti-bush, guilty conscience? Clearly in context I'm pointing out that military weapons are used against civilians no matter who is in office contrary to Hanks claim that only democrats would do such a thing.

You know who I hold the most responsible? No clearly you don't so I'll tell you. Each and every individual National Guardsman and Blackwater Mercenary that kicked down the doors and confiscated guns from law abiding citizens no matter what their political affiliation. They're the one's who did it and that they did it in exchange for money doesn't redeem them one iota as far as I'm concerned.
