Too effen funny! I have to admit when I read the OP about 5 am this morning, I had almost the same exact thoughts. Only difference was that I could barely wait to see who'd bite on this tasty little bit of chum.

ANd i bet that if we all know that these are arab supremicists raping and slaughtering black women by the thousands.. would people be interested? I really dont know.. africans are always dieing for some reason or another.. why should we care now... right? is that not what they think? no appreciation for widespread terror this movement is causing.. well atleast they won't be able to hurt US... naive and racist to the core. and america might not even have the capability to do shit.. with all this lackluster support from the rest of the western world.. how many more soldiers do we have to save these people.. why cant we get some more support?? from.. i dont know.. Europeans.. or anyone. the whole left, when it comes to foriegn policy, is completely morally bankrupt. Quote:

Re: Who is racist?
And I refuse to respond to your nonresponse! Not only that but I will respond with a refusal to respond to every future nonresponse on your part.

The right is just as bankrupt, and doing just as little. Too bad it's just lives at stake, and poor one, too. If there were oil - or political donations - we'd have plenty of action from both sides.

Re: Who is racist?
Oreo was the prefered term when I was younger - black on the outside and white on the inside.

Re: Who is racist?

I know Sudanese in their thirties who have been refugees virtually all their lives. There have been refugee camps full of Sudanese for decades in Kenya and Uganda - although these people were not from Darfur. The Darfur issue was something I first heard about back in the early nineties, when Arab fighters (back then I don't recall that they were called Ganjaweed) were conducting raids, which could probably quite accurately be referred to as pogroms. The media was not interested. Apparently there is oil in Sudan, and some reports say quite a lot of it. I don't know if this is true, although can think of several reasons why it hasn't hit the media radar at this point. To me, the bottom line in the Darfur tragedy is that these people don't have dollar votes. They are poor Africans, so who cares. And I would be surprised if many people here, whether on the 'left' or 'right' if we must use labels, would ever discuss the issue if it wasn't to take a snipe at the other side of politics rather than as an expression of any real interest in the terrible tragedy there. Probably the most well known spokesperson who has tried to raise the profile of the Darfur issue was Jan Egeland, of the UN. |
