Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico

Quote:
MEXICO CITY -- President Felipe Calderon blasted U.S. immigration policies on Sunday and promised to fight harder to protect the rights of Mexicans in the U.S., saying "Mexico does not end at its borders."

The criticism earned Calderon a standing ovation during his first state-of-the nation address.

"We strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress and government that have only persecuted and exacerbated the mistreatment of Mexican undocumented workers," he said. "The insensitivity toward those who support the U.S. economy and society has only served as an impetus to reinforce the battle ... for their rights."

He also reached out to the millions of Mexicans living in the United States, many illegally, saying: "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico."

Gotta love it when an "ally" encourages his citizens to freely violate the laws of your country.

How about the unilateral move of the Mexican government to assist their citizens in violating our borders? Apparently, that's cool with Mr. Calderon.

Re: Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico

wel its easy to see that though the presdency has changed hands their attitude has remained the same..some de facto right violate our borders..

maybe he/they should not for once take the easy out.....staying focused on us and mexcian rights here, while ignoring the motivating factors behind the imigration to start with..lack of of mexcian economical progess, rampant corruption etc...till we get serious about enforcing the border we are to an extent facilitating this rhetoric...

I was thinking Canada.

We'll start invading, and Bush can declare "Where there's an American, there is America".

Yeah good thinking, Canada has a lot more to offer than Mexico.

Re: Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico

Well, in some cases the USA has considered that "where there is an American, there is America", or even, "where there is a person wanted in America, there is grounds for American arrest" (the latter upheld in SCOTUS).

Remember the interventions in Mexico in the beginning of the last century?

Fuck the Mexican President.

If he'd see to it that his people had what they need, he wouldn't be in the position of feeling the need to criticize us for wanting them to stay the fuck out of our country...
