By looking at the views of many in a small town in Louisiana with a population of less than 3,000, it is reasonable to say the people of the southern states think the white kids are heros. But, of course.

Everybody is a little racist.

And the "South" is perceived as being more racist by people who live elsewhere.

And to me that is as prejudiced as saying that black men are more prone to violence and criminal behavior.

2) If it is true are the criminal records of covicted blacks comparable to the white convicts?

3) Were the demeanors of the black defendents comparable to those of the white defendents during trial (I.E. Remorse etc...)

I hear racism from non-white people all the time.

The most racist people I encounter are whites who demonise other whites yet defend every minority they can possibly defend.

Go to any national media page and look up entries for the Duke Lacrosse rape case; then search for the names Christopher Newsom and Channon Christian. These two were white college students raped and murdered by a gang of blacks in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Jena is a microcosm of The South and everything the region represents. I understand why you are trying to deny these opinions, but I hope you understand that the area's reputation didn't just spring up overnight.
