Odd Thing Happened Last Night...

So last night, the wife and I were guests at the Los Lonely Boys/Los Lobos show in Alpine, CA.

Watching the show from near the concessions for a while, my wife was having fun, dancing, and just diggin' the show (and it was a great show).

We weren't far from the dedicated area for wheelchairs, and we made it a point to ensure we weren't blocking their view.

Well, some woman comes over to my wife and asks her to stop dancing. She said that it "bothered" her mother, who was in a wheelchair.

So my wife asks "So, because your mother can't dance, she doesn't want me to dance?"

"That's right" was the reply.

My wife responded "Yeah, I don't think so", and continued dancing and enjoying the show.

What's going on with people that they believe they can insist that others not do what they, themselves, cannot do?

I thought the attitude of the woman was incredible, primarily because she just didn't tell her mother that, at a concert, people are gonna' dance. The way I see it, if you don't wanna' see people doing something, for no other reason than you can't do it, you probably shouldn't leave the fucking house...

well I put this down to the ole adage, some folks from every dimension have to make up the world....that’s ridiculous, I suspect that woman is a very very unhappy person and probably would have been sans handicap in any event.

I got an idea...if she doesn't like to see people dance then don't go to a venue where people dance...call me crazy.

I've noticed a lot of Californians are like that.

The funny thing about this is that they only asked the people near them to stop dancing. There were people dancing everywhere in that venue.

The woman in the wheelchair was perturbed, but that wasn't my problem. Perhaps she'd have been better suited to a quilting get-together than a Texican rock & roll show...

Re: Odd Thing Happened Last Night...

My sainted grandmother was in a wheelchair for the last 15 years of her long life. She still used to love going to Church Square dances, she'd get as close as she could and clap along with the music. All the dancers loved her and she had a great time. She won the award for "most spirited" on several occasions.

This would be too much like common sense which is getting more and more uncommon these days.

What do you expect from a crap liberal sate like Californa? You had a porn star, the Termanator and Gary Coleman running for governer and the Termanator won and has basically done nothing as governer. Liberals are stupid people tho, they think they have every right to put their finger in your face man.... I would have just punched those fuck heads in the face and hoped for a liberal judge so I could get off on anger management.

You cant fix California...

Like that one dude said... "you cant fix stupid"
