I still don't agree with your mindset, but it is at least consistent. Many people think that way, especially those in your age group. It is hard to get people to change how they think ...

I appreciate your debating the issue in a graceful manner, without resorting to insults and name calling as some (actually, a certain poster) have resorted to.
It's been a pleasure! I enjoy talking to people like you, who also enjoys just debating with all the nasty insults.

You have a strang sense of humor. Anyway, Mrs M articulated her position well enough. You on the other hand haven't advised why you believe said situation is unfair, and neither have you proposed a solution. Perhaps you could contribute a bit more to the debate.

Any shade of pink! Here's one of my favorites:

That's because Mrs. M is a woman of intelligence...

You on the other hand haven't advised why you believe said situation is unfair, and neither have you proposed a solution.
Furthermore, a person of intelligence would not expect a proposed solution from someone who doesn't believe there's a problem. Why, then, would you continue to ask for just that?

Perhaps you could contribute a bit more to the debate.
Dude, you're talking about pink nail polish. That, in no way, contributes to this discussion. If you're looking for new colors to try, please do that through PM. It has no place in the thread...

Holy shit, I can't believe I got through typing that whole part about the nail polish without laughing...

If you don't believe there is a problem, please stop posting in this thread.

Perhaps because I believe there is a problem.

How would you advise changing the mindset of people that have been conditioned to believe men with long hair are unprofessional?

You're damn near begging to look silly, so here ya' go.

Why should I stop posting if I don't think there's a problem? Nowhere in your initial post did you request that only those who share your opinion post. Nowhere; such a request doesn't exist.

Here are some of the questions contained in your initial post:

    1) What does everyone think about discrimination against men with long hair in the workplace? Is it fair? Should there be laws against it?

You asked for opinions. Opinions cannot be reasonably countered by simply asking the same questions over and over again. You fail to grasp this ridiculously simple concept...

    2) What does everyone think?

Again, you asked for simple input; opinions. When this input didn't share your beliefs, your panties got knotted and you started insisting that it was a problem, and that the opinions of others were wrong.

You need to do a few things if you're going to appear intelligent around here, not the leats of which is understand what the fuck you ask, and then understand what type of responses the question may receive.

You ask for opinions, but get all pissy when you don't like the opinions you receive. You can't ask "What do you think?", and then say, in essence, "You're wrong".

    That's idiotic...

Vulgar comments aren't necessary. Further, I never did get any reasonable input from you, excepting insults and putdowns.

    More putdowns.

Anyway, you haven't articulated how you would change people's mindsets so that long hair is accepted on men. Maybe you could do so now.

Bullshit. This is from my post on the first page of the thread; post #6:

A private employer has the right to not hire someone if he believes that person's appearance will not represent his company the way he'd like it represented.

Now, that may be unreasonable to you, but you've made it quite clear, through a littany of idiotic posts on countless threads, that the only things you'll find reasonable are things you agree with...

    More putdowns.
Hey, don't bitch at me; you earned 'em...

Anyway, you haven't articulated how you would change people's mindsets so that long hair is accepted on men. Maybe you could do so now.
I would not change anything. How you fail to grasp that fact is beyond me...

So, how come the private employer would hire a woman with long hair, but discriminate against a man with long hair?

Sorry, but I'm not going to debate such a stupid fucking issue with you anymore.

After this idiotic statement of yours: "I never did get any reasonable input from you", I proved that you were wrong, by providing the input I offered.

You can't even admit that you fucked up, so I'm not inclined to carry this on anymore.

Get a fucking haircut, lose the sissy nail polish that you're so , and go get a fucking job...

I could wear sweats to work if I wanted to. As it is, I wear jeans and a polo shirt every day...
But he is right to an extent. Many employers don't want guys with long hair. I believe they have that right because it is their company. But they could be missing out on quality employees due to it.

I'm not so sure that, that is unfortunate. See, I like to wear shorts, flip flops and a t-shirt. Actually I love it. I've never really liked dressing up. But I gladly do it for work. Mostly because I know that when I look good, I feel good. And I do look good. LOL! Although I do think that the dress code of the 90's (as in uber casual) was part of the downfall of the dot coms. Not because of how they looked, but because it probably made them not take their job seriously enough.

I personally would love to see business go back to suits, ties, shirts and hats. Like the style of the 40's and 50's. Except for those big ugly ties. LOL
