Have You Been To China?

Given the situation in China with respect to suspected swine flu cases, and given the other thread regarding the issue, the question posed is "Have you ever been to China?"

Yes, I used to travel there for business in the 1990s.

Yes, I'd go again, but not to Beijing.

Well I was in China when they had SARS. AND I toured the Beijing University Hospital where most of the cases were.

I guess the difference in you and me is that I am not a shrinking violet!

This is JUST the flu, NOT the plague or the HANTA virus. And I am amazed at the number of people who wear those masks around in this country, which IMO is just fucking retarded.

Why the personal attack?

I've asked a simple question. Surely someone of your alleged education is able to approach a simple question with a simple answer, right?

Or is "simple" just too tough for you?

Who said anything about comparing this to other viruses?

I voted no. I won't say I have no intention of ever going, but it's not a priority.

Re: Have You Been To China?

I'm sure it's a beautiful country and all, but I wouldn't feel too safe visiting a country that is more than happy to arrest people on flimsy charges and quarantine travelers for showing "flu-like" symptons. That's bullshit. I'd rather take my chances with pretentious Europeans.

Do people of your alleged education always have to post superfluous bullshit? Is it to get attention? Your repeated statements of "I did this" and I did that" certainly are a strong suggestion of that. If you need to be the center of attention, just tell us.

What's the deal?

I think it's funny that you felt the need to post your unrelated, nonsensical verbal diahharea, but failed to respond to the poll.

Answer the fucking question and move on, or don't answer it and keep quiet...

I have read the rules of this forum and I did not see that part.

As for the rest of your post, it further points out your either/or..black and white view of pretty much everything.

I can tell you this, if I want to be the center of atteniton, I really don't need YOU to orchestrate that. And one thing further, if you are in the music business, then I am Hillary Clinton.

I lived in Music City, USA-Nahsville TN for 20 years. Worked with several big names. And NONE of them acted like you. So, dear, I do think it is you who spreadeth the bullshit here.

Re: Have You Been To China?

I want to learn Chinese someday and would love to visit China. I have not been able to and I'm not sure as to the feasibility of me ever being able to go.

Re: Have You Been To China?

The thread I posted is a valid one with a valid issue, and no one who has posted on this one seemed to pick up on it. There are many reasons one would go to China. Commerce is one of those reasons. Diplomatic work is another. And tourism has rarely been halted by 'infections' which are numerous in other places of interest. I reference malaria. However, it seems all who are posting on THIS thread have locked themselves into Steve's very narrow and black and white thought process to the extent that they cannot even discuss on the other thread what is really a 'hostage' kind of situation involving children who really shouldn't be away from their parents.

It is sad that many on this forum are so misogynisitc that they cannot accept the notion that a female actually does have a law degree or that in the course of her work as a health care professional has actually worked with some 'big names.'

Well, FYI, here's a flash. The 'big names' get sick too. And they aren't hateful and arrogant like our Steve who, IMO, is just a wannabe. And here's another flash: There are enough people like ME in the US that we have our own oragnization: The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA)

And yes, I am a member. But unless and until others are required to post credentials to be able to post here, then I will not.

All of you who are so quick to discount the importance of China and her actions involving Americans would be well reminded that at this point in our history America owes her financial survival to China.
