I'm not talking about providing for adults. I've been poor. The only 'handout' I was looking for was for someone to hire me for a (better) job. What I'm talking about is providing education to children. Without free education, poor children can never better themselves.

Why must it be me that educates them, against my will? Why do you value someone elses needs above my own? I beleive education is part of the responsibility of raising a child. If you cant afford to educate your child, you shouldnt have one.
