That's not entirely true.

The liberal socialist utopia, at least in the United States, does exist and has existed since about 1943 with the advent of the payroll withholding tax, compounded by the manner in which the government has subsequently gone about redistributing the wealth that those taxes generate.

I wouldn't have a huge issue with the whole gay marriage debate if there weren't very real, and very unfair, financial implications for American citizens based upon their sexual orientation.

But once you start giving tax breaks to married couples and deny those tax breaks to other commited couples who want to be married but can't get married based upon laws that are predicated on tradition rather than substance, I've got a problem with it.

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. That's a pretty good summation of socialism gone bad, right?

Well that's what you've got in America when you say that all citizens are equal, but when it comes to the manner in which we redistribute public funds some Americans are more equal than others.
