That's not what he's saying. What he is saying is that 50 years from now if religion becomes so unpopular that the majority of citizens decide to outlaw it... he will be just fine with that, because it is the will of the majority after all. He's saying he will gladly give up his personal rights if the majority should say so. He is saying that there is no moral responsibility to protect the rights of a minority against the tyranny of a majority... because hey... majority rule is much more important than individual rights.

A woman I went to high school with had uterine cancer. As a result, she is unable to have children. Using your criteria, she should not have been permitted to marry, because she cannot produce children. That's stupid.
I know plenty of married couples who do not have children because they can't have children. In that regard, they're no different from gays.
You have taken the position that gays cannot marry because they cannot produce children. Since that's your litmus test, surely you are against allowing infertile heterosexuals from marrying, correct?
