He voted to send them to war to capture bin Laden, that was it, pure and simple. He did not vote for never-ending nation building. Obviously are troops are safer at home than they are in Afghanistan for 80 years, no matter how many supplies they have. Plus all the supplies the troops need are taken care of under the defense budget, it matters not if appropriation bills are passed from time to time. The troops aren't going to magically starve to death one day just because an appropriation bill doesn't pass; all food and ammunition, etc. is already paid for and they will have it regardless, check your facts, oh wait it's you, you don't do that.

It's not me not understanding something..it's you ignoring the Constitution as much as the liberals you hate so much. You even use the same arguments for why it's ok to ignore the Constitution. You are no better than the liberals who do the same thing, for the same reasons.

Interesting. 150 years ago the Constitution was ignored with regard to states rights for the purpose of eliminating slavery. Was that also a bad thing?

Does ignoring the Constitution in that case make it ok to ignore it in the future whenever you want to? If so, Obamacare is great and constitutional. Sweet, now you guys can vote for Obama with no problem.

It's interesting that every time someone brings up a staunch constitutionalist point of view, the person opposed, be it "conservative" or "liberal" ALWAYS seems to bring up either 1. racism or 2. slavery

It is ridiculous. Yes, the Constitution was ignore A LOT during the Civil War. Slavery should never have existed. It should have been left out of the Constitution to begin with (granted the US as we know it would not have formed), but that didn't happen. So what happened, well happened. And at the end of it all, how was slavery expunged from the Constitution? AN AMENDMENT (actually 2). So, you want national anti-abortion laws? Cool, let's get enough support from 3/4 of the States and AMEND the Constitution, legally. Then whammmo! You got what you want. Until then, national abortion laws, either way, are unconstitutional, regardless of what happened during the Civil War.

Because really if you are using the old "slavery/Civil War" thing the liberals all do to justify breaching the Constitution for "moral reasons", you might as well agree with liberals that Obamacare was necessary morally to protect those "40 million without healthcare".

So does the Constitution mean anything? Does it have a purpose? Or is it, as the liberals claim, outdated and antiquated and should be ignored because "slave owners" crafted it?
