These are the latest figures. I have checked.

Are people saying FactCheck.Org is wrong. The number is a bit dated but there no reason it shouldn't hold.
In 2002 GDP was 10,000 Billion and 13.9 was spent on health.
Which gives a number of 1,390 billion spent on health in 2002.

$6 billion was given out in malpractise suits in 2002.

Which gives 0.43% of total health expenditure.

This is the total figure. We don't know how much of this is frivolous. A Judge must have heard the evidence and stated that this is what was needed.
