Never it seems have we been so divided in such a serious way as we are at this moment. It feels as though we are experiencing the “Death of a Nation” when even the last president describes his base as the Have and Have More group putting the greater part of our citizenry in what he must feel is the “boob class” (sometimes referred to by this group with their typical compassion? as “LIU”s; Low Income Units).

Now comes to a great degree the day of baby boomers raised on the milk of expansion living in the “promised land” of prosperity fewer having the educational experience of parent's across the board hard times and the scramble to move upward from little or nothing save of course the need to have significant numbers reduced by sacrifice at the alters of the War God.

Numbed by the wordsmiths and media. Mesmerized by the “sirens song” of the Odyssey and a faith unchallenged yet in the dangers that lie ahead they divided into two groups the have and have more AND “all others” LIUs.

Disaster strikes ! Some how helped along by outright thievery but mostly by the natural inclination of mans insatiable appetite to produce profit by investment of capital in ways to produce ever more profit.

Unfortunately unless the other end of a teeter tauter has equal weight
on the opposite end the heavy end sinks and the lighter end remains suspended unable to contribute to the purpose for which the teeter tauter it was made. Funds to purchase the production of the Have/have more group became depleted and the game ceased.

Responding to this phenomenon vast credit was extended to the LIUs that extended the life styles of both parties and staved off the inevitable ultimate (we hope) results we are faced with today.

Still undaunted by the disastrous chain of events the Nuevo Rico join with the old guard to maintain the status quo and become the party of “NO” embracing all the concepts that lead to war servitude and demise for the masses.

Comes now one who will attempt to balance the scales and bring change that appears so far to be a step in the right direction but whose efforts resemble one pissing into the wind and shoveling shit against the tide.
Wind/Tide = The money.

Ca Sara Sara !

We simply cannot retreat to the party base that bills itself as the ”Have’s and Have More folks” if for NO other reason than theirs is a position that cannot be sustained. Hopefully one will agree because they do not want to identify with the likes of such a group.

As you can see healthcare from for 65 -85 costs over 200% of the average and for above 85 it is over 500% of the average.

This explains so medicare costs are so high. The private insurers are charging for when costs are much lower risk while when the person actually is more likely to get sick the Goverment is forced to pick up the tab.

Malpractice Around the World

We will be featuring an upcoming series on health care in other countries that is pretty much going to dispel the myth that if it ain’t American it is socialized.

There are many ah ha moments here for how other countries handle their malpractice claims.

United States
In the US, medical malpractice law traditionally has been under the authority of the states, not the federal government, as it is in many other countries. To win compensation, the injured person needs to prove that they received substandard medical care that caused their injury. This must be done within a legally prescribed period, called a “statute of limitation.” Once the injured person has proved negligence that led to injury, the court establishes how much “damages” will be paid in compensation. These take into account both actual economic loss (lost wages and cost of future medical care) and non-economic losses (pain and suffering). Physicians generally must have malpractice insurance to protect themselves and their patients in case of medical negligence and unintentional injury.

United Kingdom
Similar to the United States, the UK relies on the court system to settle patient complaints. 90% of doctors in the UK are insured by the NHS, which handles all the legal and business aspects of medicine. Doctors are not personally liable for malpractice claims, nor must they purchase malpractice insurance on their own. While jury trials are less common in the UK, the legal handling of malpractice claims are much like the US’s. Funds for the NHS indemnity come from the government’s general fund.

France
Up until 2002, France’s malpractice system looked similar to the United States’. Patients brought their cases to court and then either settled or received an award. The two main differences between France and the United States’ practices are that first, France had no caps on malpractice awards, and second, there were several rules that made it more difficult for patients to win a case.

However, since 2002 things work differently in France. France has moved to a out-of-court, no-fault system in which wronged patients bring claims before their regions’ government-appointed review board which is responsible for determining whether or not compensation is in order, and if so, how much. Money for patient relief comes from a national compensation fund which gets its funds from insurance premiums placed on doctors and hospitals or from general fund revenues.

Germany
In Germany, initial malpractice claims are referred to mediation boards and expert panels set up by the Physicians’ guild. Patients may reject the result of mediation and take their case to court, where the system is similar to the United States’.

Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway
These Nordic countries operate out-of-court, no-fault systems for medical malpractice. The systems are based on the principle of compensating patients for injuries they suffer from medical care that involved avoidable risk and complications. The systems also compensate patients for injury caused by defective equipment, the misuse of equipment, incorrect diagnoses, and infection contracted during treatment.

Japan
All members of the Japanese Medical Association – which accounts for 43.5% of Japan’s doctors – have a collective insurance pool. Private doctors and hospital employees can buy insurance through the private market, though it is not required by law. The professional liability program offers an out-of-court review of claims that is faster and less expensive than in-court reviews, but the way is set up is biased in favor of doctors over patients. The review board’s decisions are binding, but if the patient is dissatisfied he or she may sue in court.

In Japan, injury or death due to medical error is often treated as a criminal matter – arrests and prosecutorial decisions are based on results of investigations. This is in contrast to the United States, which almost always treats medical errors as a civil matter, not criminal.

Canada
Canada’s malpractice system is similar to the UK and the US, except there are far fewer claims filed and more money is paid out in compensation on average that in the US. One reason there are fewer claims filed in Canada can be attributed to the increasing use of alternative, informal interventions that address patient concerns more quickly the formal system. In Canada, most doctors receive malpractice protection from the Canadian Medical Protective Association.

There is much proof and little doubt that international "Trade" is an important factor in our economy in creating employment.

Each of our trading partners usually has something we lack and want/need or can funish it at a price we cannot compete with.
We appear to them in the same light.

When a significant "out of balance" between the partners occurs the employment status and benefits derived can be altered to the point of causing serious harm to one or both patners.

Such a condition is now with us.

World wide needs of producers to meet competition has caused many firms to find and exploit low cost labor to reduce production costs and increase profit that of course our own manufactures had to join in to stay in the game to the extent of closing their production facilities here in the U.S.A. dismantling their equipment and reopening their plant in a low labor cost country.

I do not have the facility to produce analytical information but there are many experts that do and their URLs are shown below.

Of prime importance is the claim that for every billion dollars of a negative trade balance 13,000 jobs are lost. It is said that at (I believe) the year 2000 we lost three million jobs and at this time 2009 we hav lost seven million jobs.

The evidence provided indicates world wide unemployment figures as well as”our” trade balances year by year.

It clearly outlined objectives, the planned means to achieve them and the oversight measures of evaluation and control.

The opposition has had the spotlight turned on them, their motovations, false and mileading arguments and deceptions countered. Unsaid but implieded (for those with long memories) was the characterization IMO of Republicans against the plan that was of the nature of the Jews developing the saying "Never Again" .

To the Military mind success means the virtual elimination or subjugation of those designated the enemy by higher authority. “Nothing else”.

When asked by higher authority if their assigned mission can be accomplished the answer will usually be affirmative but relates by logic only to the single factor “elimination and subjugation of those dubbed the enemy”.(This is the area in which they are trained) and their answer should be honest (regardless of job security) and understood to apply only to the “destruction portion” of the equation.

Another view; What good reasons do we have to go to war ?

IMO:
1. Need for; Continuous access to Land, Water and Energy sources capable of supporting our population.

2. Attack, or development for attack that might prove superior to our own forces and significant enough to endanger our nation.

What is the purpose of those who confront us ?

3. Need for; Continuous access to Land, Water and Energy sources capable of supporting their population.

4. Attack, or development for attack that might prove superior to their own forces
and significant enough to endanger their own nation.(emerging political groups).

5. Economic and political strangleholds by reason of foreign Military strength

Perhaps Television has cooked our goose !

“George Jefferson of TV fame used to say when he finally achieved “it” “I finally
got a piece of the pie”.

Can we “without war” satisfy our needs and wants in the good ole USA ? Or should we ask our Generals if we can take on the world ?

A successful Republican was walking down a very crowded street in New York City and suddenly noticed a fellow had fainted or been struck down and lay directly in his path. Late for an appointment without hesitation or beaking stride he stepped on the fellow and continued his progress.

A Democrat was aghast at what he had witnessed caught up with the fellow and read him the riot act. The Republican agreed he had been somewhat callous and promised to never repeat his action.

The say lightning never stikes twice in the same place but as the Republican made his way back from whence he had come and at nearly the same place he had stepped on the prone fellow he noticed another body on the sidewalk in his path. Remembering the scolding he had received from the Democrat for his last action he (without pause) deftly skirted around the poor fellow and continued on feeling good about his new found compassion.

It would drive costs down for employers and thus help the economy. If the country spends less on healthcare while still retaining the same quality or better then that has to be good.

5. There will be no rationing of health care. If you're wondering if a "death panel" will convene and "pull the plug on Grandma," essentially, the answer is "yes."

It would seem fewer and fewer of the youger generation have the inclination or curiosity to explore beyond "sound bites" fed an a daily basiis by the mass media. Not so surprising in a world evolved to the point of "Information Overload".

How can we best handle this overload !

IMO Virtually all information and learning is provided to us by "Connections" and "comparisons" obtained through our eyes, ears, and the mouths of others. The content is so great and available in such volume that it is necessary for most to categorize and condense in an orderly manner that which we receive and develop a rule of thumb to permit recall based on importance and interest.

What better way might there be in respect to analysis (or organization) than to search out information considered the most important and then find and exhibit the related factors "that are the dots" to help one in understanding the "whole enchalada" encapsulating the crux ?

Curiosity and hunger for knowledge keeps me alive.

If anyone has a more effective way of organization for the purposes outlined please post it !

Re: Obama Falsely Claims That AARP Has Endorsed Health Care Legislation

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WHY the AARP would hesitate to endorse OBAMA"s plan !!!!!

The AARP makes its money by "extracting" a percentage of gross revenue from each of the enities it contracts with who actually are "The power behind the throne" in respect to underwriting their business activities. (collecting fees)

MEDIGAP INSURANCE INSURANCE (A medicare supplement) is sold under the AARP NAME but United HealthCare Insurance Compny is the INSURER !

"AARP MEDICAL SUPPLY SERVICE" is provided by Prescription splutions an AFFILIATE OF UNITERD HEALTH CARE INSURANCE COMPANY.

"AARP PRESCRIPTION DISCOUNT PROGRAM" IS PROVIDED BY VARIOUS PARTICIPATING SERVICES AND INCLUDES MANY NOTEABLE COMPANIES finding in advantageous to pay a commission to AARP for use of the AARP trademark and membership volume.

Similar arrangements have been establishe with "MOTOR CLUB BREAKDOWN SERVICES, AUTO INSURANCE COMPANIES, ANNUITY PRODUCTS,LIFE INSURANCE. AND MEDICARE PLAN "D" pharmacuiticals.

In other words AARP is a "BROKER" not a provider and should a public health program come into the picture administered by the government and supported by taxes paid by "us" the people their value would be greatly reduced as membership is reduced to the point of nulifying the need to pay a commission for their services by the actual providers.

JM&Joseph why in the first place would they ever support a program that would castrate them ?

The cost of medical services for a family is raising at double the rate of inflation on one hand and forcing increasing numbers into the ranks of the uninsured.

Looking ahead.....Do you really think you can handle this ?

There is one born every minute and Two to take 'em !
