Bill Maher vs Pope Benedict XVI

Bill Maher is at it again.
Now it's the Pope he's got a problem with.
So bigotry by the left is fit for television?
I stopped subscribing to HBO when they ended the Sopranos. I used to watch Politically Incorrect back when the discussions were at least balanced but now it has become a rant session for Liberals. I don't feel the need to start screaming at the TV because some individual starts making up lies or telling jokes from a warped lefty perspective.
Maher has compared the Pope and the Catholic church to some cult in Texas. And to top it off he called the Pope a Nazi. He retracted the Nazi comment last night but not the rest. He still says that he is leader of a cult that molests children......most of the cases in question happened decades ago, and last time I checked Pope Benedict was elected only a couple of years ago. But Maher wants to use a broad brush and condemns him for the sins of others.
Let's forget the problem is not universal, although seemingly wide-spread. But if it weren't for the fact that the perpetrators were religous I think it is highly likely Liberals like Maher would be defending them instead of condemning them.
Religion seems to be the real crime in this. Any thoughts?
