The abundance of Natural Resources and Capital Investments were the keys that pushed our Nation forward from the beginning and allowed us to exploit that abundance.
As we gradually depleted that abundance and grew in numbers we (as the other developed Western Countries had done for centuries ) found it necessary especially in respect to “Energy” to go farther afield in our own exploitations driven first from an initial financial aspect and later because of developing scarcity.
