Caught my first Eurovision in 20 years last year, and not much has changed. Truly truly awful, with half of them being novelty acts, the other half being really bad RnB type of singing, but with very very little talent.
highlight for me was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHAY_OVN_gY Moldavia that had an actual semi decent rock pop song. So obviously they did poorly.
Eurovision is the kiss of death for any musical act, but everyone still goes in thinking that they will be the next ABBA, pretty much the only band that has won the thing and gone to international success.

Fot those who are unfamiliar w Eurovision, I sincerely recommend looking at some of the videos of the contestants. It's like watching a train wreck. So awful, yet so hard to keep your eyes averted.
