Informatiom Overload

With the advent of the computer and its ability to store and provide access to almost unlimited text and visual material is it time to revise our method of teaching to minimize the need to learn memorize and store so much in our own brain but rather teach the fundamentals of comprehensively accessing the computer stored information for both the answers and the detailed manner ussed to arrive at such ?

To the Military mind success means the virtual elimination or subjugation of those designated the enemy by higher authority. “Nothing else”.

Evolution of a Republican

A successful Republican was walking down a very crowded street in New York City and suddenly noticed a fellow had fainted or been struck down and lay directly in his path. Late for an appointment without hesitation or beaking stride he stepped on the fellow and continued his progress.

A Democrat was aghast at what he had witnessed caught up with the fellow and read him the riot act. The Republican agreed he had been somewhat callous and promised to never repeat his action.

Connecting the dots

It would seem fewer and fewer of the youger generation have the inclination or curiosity to explore beyond "sound bites" fed an a daily basiis by the mass media. Not so surprising in a world evolved to the point of "Information Overload".

How can we best handle this overload !

IMO Virtually all information and learning is provided to us by "Connections" and "comparisons" obtained through our eyes, ears, and the mouths of others....
