Hey, if the guys are smart enough to realise that their captors are so dumb as to release them if they convert, then good on them. People will do anything to save their life, and if telling someone what they want to hear will save their life, then why not?

If you go back to the written sources of Christianity, the New Testament, you can find no teachings of violence. In the Quoran, you can.

There are teachings of Augustinus of Hippo and others who explain that Christians can engage in just wars, to defend themselves and their Christian brethren. This made the ideological basis of the first Crusades in the end of the 11th century. The Holy Land had been ruled by Muslims for 400 years, but Christians had been able to travel and live there. However, when a new Muslim state conquered the Holy Land and started to persecute the Christians, their Christian brethren in Western Europe were justified in waging a war. However, the just cause of the First Crusade cannot defend the slaughter of Muslims made by the Christians once they reached the Holy Land and seized Jerusalem.

The KKK act in the name of Christianity, but it is a distorted view of Christianity with no basis in the Bible or teachings of the great theologicans. Muslim terrorists can find passages in the Quoran encouraging Muslims to slaughter infidels.
