Brave men, when given the choice between injustice and death, choose death. The fact that you choose injustice is telling of you and your character. Whats perhaps the most galling is that you don't even have the decency to show the slightest bit of shame over your cowardice, instead you flaunt it like its a badge of honor and a mark of pride.

Folks, please stop impugning one another's characters and making inappropriate gender references. Please stick to the topic at hand.

Thanks.

I wonder if Dick Cheney is behind it, It sounds like something he'd do. I agree, Leahy is one of the few that stands for the constitution.

Not really. I think what keeps it from being ironic is the fact that he was never indicted. :

Maybe by explaining why it's ok to arbitrarily detain and torture presumably innocent people.

Ah yes, that.

In all seriousness i'm still stunned at the outburst and apparent outrage on this thread!

Give me a minute to compose myself! :P

I'm stunned at some of the reactions on this thread too.

Namely the attitude that arbitrary detention and torture is ok.

Perhaps when you're recomposed, you'll tell me why it's ok to grab and hide someone until they decompose.

Re: Detainee bill passed

Apart from me and Sam name one person who hasn't bashed this bill?

There's about 20 of you just calling it disgraceful and fighting for Terrorists to have the rights that all the rest of America is entitled to!

Its simply mind boggling at times!

How do you know they are terrorists?

This gives them the right to detain and torture any non citizen, right?

How are they being tortured? What techniques are being used that you consider to be torture?

As I understand it, that makes waterboarding ok?

And even if it doesn't, there's still the small issue of arbitrary detentions.
