PARADISE, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- A 32-year-old truck driver walked into an Amish schoolhouse Monday, binding and shooting three girls execution-style before killing himself, police said Monday.
He is in need of no defense - he's dead.

This makes me think of Iraq and our news media outlets.

So you blame the media who report are the things going on in this country? I guess they need to stick with Paris Hilton stories which is their real function right?

Re: Gunman shoots girls in Amish school

This is so tragic! My former sister-in-law was Mennonite, an offshoot of Amish, and they are some of the best people you'd ever want to meet. That someone could go in a kill the children of one of the most peaceful groups in the world truly is sickening. I'm glad the bastard killed himself.

It is sickening. And children are always peaceful and innocent no matter what group they belong to.

That's what I am afraid of; people will start to blame the guns.

Guns don't kill, only people do. They can't stop drugs and crime in general and they'll never stop sick bastards from obtaining guns, thus leaving us innocent people defenseless.

I didn't mean it to sound as though they aren't.

Yeah okay but what about when kids get their hands on guns from their houses because parents us them? Then what?

I'm not neccessarily blaming the guns...just saying this needs to be looked at.

Well lets wait until the details come out. It is possible that this was a person with known mental problems that purchased a gun legally. In which case it is entirely fair to question policies surrounding the legal purchase of firearms. But it could also be he stole the gun, or it was an old family gun from the farm, or whatever. But I tend to agree that if someone wants a gun they will get one wherever they can.

Oh well, ho hum, another week - another mass shooting in the US. How is this news anymore? This is seemingly standard practice isn't it? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING OVER THERE!!!! Don't you have any respect for anyone? Is anyone able to explain to me why the prevalence of maniacal psychotic mass shooters is so massively prevalent in the US, far more so than any other country on the planet?

Well to be fair, this seasons school shootings started in Montreal, Canada. We have had numerous school massacres over the years. Has this never happened down under?
