Re: Gunman shoots girls in Amish school

Yeah exactly we had Columbine years ago, Britain had dunblane about 10 years ago, Beslan (the seige, though that was terrorism and not just criminal acts of one individual) in russia. noa, i think that was somewhat of an insensitive reaction on your part. Nobody wants to see children die, and even if it does happen too often, what do you want us to do, let it happen and stand by and accept it as the norm?

Yeah .... I'm sure the parents of those killed school-girls worry about just that too ... that would be so tragic. How could this guy only put guns into such a bad light?

Guns don't kill, only people do. They can't stop drugs and crime in general and they'll never stop sick bastards from obtaining guns, thus leaving us innocent people defenseless.
That must just turn this whole thing into a tragedy.

Re: Gunman shoots girls in Amish school

All right people, I think you've mis-took my post. I wasn't turning this into a anti-gun debate.

Someone mentioned guns and I posted on it, that's it, that's all.

This thread is about the poor girls that were killed and that's what it should be about, I wasn't trying to change that.

Re: Gunman shoots girls in Amish school

Yeah, i should have never mentioned guns, i wish i hadn't now.

I also wanted to say something about alertness and that film talked about above came to mind when i heard about this.

Unfortunately i couldn't and can't find a good way to word this so i'll just leave it, it'll offend others so its better not to say anything.

Re: Gunman shoots girls in Amish school

CNN reports three dead and eight critically injured.
This shit shouldn't happen to anyone, but least of all to the Amish. It said somewhere that 'they had no police, because they have no crime'.....

Seems like a classical psychopath case: holding a (possibly/probably) delusional grudge for 20 years and then: snap.

@noahath: I wouldn't shout as loud. Shit like this is increasingly happening everywhere in the West.

Yes, but the point that I was making is that although Columbine was years ago, it wasn't an isolated incident. I mean there was another shooting just last week!! Two in two weeks. US high school shootings are very much the norm, and an expected part of the Federal school year now. What the hell is going wrong within the schools?

This is an Amish school. It is very, very different then a public school or any other conventional school for that matter. This wasn't even a high school considering the Amish don't go to high school. I wouldn't say this is a problem within the schools, much less a problem within an Amish school; IMO, this is a problem within society.

teachers should be allowed to be armed. It could give them a chance to cut this sort of shit out at the get go.

From what I know about the Amish they wouldn't have a gun other than maybe hunting for food.

No, of course not the Amish, but the other four incidents this week involved regular public schools.

I agree, but three school shootings in less than a week!!!! Come one, perhaps part of the problem could be that the US doesn't even seem to be able to admit that there is a problem?

It's more like people really do not give a shit until it happens to them.
