So amusing that we have had a dozen threads on it in the past?
Well, only one other that I am aware of, but one of the true tests of humor is that it stands the test of time!

Nope, they are basically stealing from hard working people that have invested in the companies they owe millions of dollars to by seeking protection from those creditors.

Now, I have no problem with Chapter 11 in principal, but I think a MINIMAL restriction on it--that the company seeking its protection rather than outright dissolution actually have proven a working business model at some point in its past. Why should creditors be screwed and the books wiped clean for a high-risk venture for which there is absolutely NO historical basis upon which to assume it will EVER be able to turn a profit.

Well, not yet. I like to think of the pending demise of Air America as trying to knock over a coke machine. You're not gonna get it to fall over the first time, you need a few pushes, ya know, to get some momentum. This is push number 2 or 3 for Air America, so it won't be long before they are off the air permanently .

Consevatives have talk radio. Talking heads that form opinions for their listeners.

Liberals got the internet. Free information on the internet that leads them to informed individual opinions.

I prefer the latter.

Conservatives have BOTH, but you're too busy getting your daily dose of venom from Huffington, DailyKOS, and MOVEON to realize that.

Re: Air America files chapter 11

Neocon talk radio is supported by the 7 multi-billionaires that own all of the US media. Air America is a small company and as with most small companies they are barely afloat in this Republican billionaire economy country. They have some really crappy hosts like Stephanie Miller who just took over for Will Durst and Willie Brown here in SF. I like them, I can't stand her. She sounds just like Ann Coulter but on the left, very annoying. They have Al Franken and Ed Schultz who rock. The rest kinda suck. It's too bad.

Re: Air America files chapter 11

I almost never listened to Air America, I like Al Franken, but the rest of their lineup was kind of lame, it sounded too much like right wing radio.
I listen to NPR when I'm in the car, or sailing, but that's the only time I listen to the radio, since Art Bell went off the air.

As much as you want this to prove that liberal media is suffering, it's much more likely to be caused by internet. It is killing every type of old media these days (as you know).

Conservatives would consider facts to be venom.

It's true. We're not cut for radio. We don't hate that many people to keep the conversation interesting.

Conservatives have so much topics to cover:

Hate speech on Iraq

Hate speech on Saddam

Hate speech on feminists

Hate speech on liberals

Hate speech on anti-war protesters

Hate speech on communists

Hate speech on gays

Hate speech on atheists

Hate speech on democrats

Hate speech on unions

Hate speech on sex offenders (as if you would find opposers to such silliness)

Hate speech on enviormentalists

Hate speech on 'activist' judges

Hate speech on Muslims

Hate speech on Teletubbies

Hate speech on music videos

Hate speech on pornography

Hate speech on public education

Hate speech on the lazy middle class

Hate speech on Katrina victims

Hate speech on socialists

Hate speech on Hugo Chavez

Hate speech on Bill Clinton

Hate speech on Hamas

Hate speech on Lebanon

Hate speech on Palestine

Hate speech on alternate 9/11 theories

Hate speech on independent investigations

Hate speech on those "little beasts" that seduce Republican congressmen.

You're right! We can't compete.

When you look at conservative websites - they flat out ban anyone that sounds slighty liberal. I know this because I have a sign-in on Red State, LFG, and Freeperville. They ban and keep the topic exclusive to hate propaganda.

Even you know that you can't find the facts at conservative websites. When it comes to getting news and facts, you can find those on progressive websites.

When you want outright propaganda, you go to conservative websites and hope whatever dirt they can dig up, or invent, on Harry Reid can stick. You know that just as well as I do.

That's why conservative sites are not successful on the web. That's why it's so successful on talk radio because they monopolize their hate speech on the airwaves and don't allow facts to come into play. You want to be a liberal calling in on the Limbaugh show? Prepare to get hung up on.

Me too goober. I used to like Will and Willy in the morning. They talked about local NORCAL politics as well as national stuff. But this lady who replaced them is horrible. It's NPR all the way to work for me now.

At least you don't see "Hate America" on your list. That is exclusive to another party.

And coming from the party whose only platform for 8 years has been "We hate Bush" it doesn't mean very much.
