Yes it would remind you of that because you are a bigot.
Poor Christians, all they have is complete control of Congress, most fortune 500 companies and every single pundit television guy complaining about the inconvenience of the phrase "Happy Holidays." Excuse me while I play the world's smallest violin for a community facing the worlds smallest amounts of discrimination.

sometimes people (whether muslim or anything else) have to flexible in order to fit in with other considerations. If there are valid reasons for the olymics being held around that time, then maybe its something Muslim athletes will just have to live with. If not, then maybe being flexible to accommodate a significant number of competitors is something that the Olympic committee can live with.
You cannot move the Olympic Games to any time of the year. There are a lot of important, annual competitions that has their fixed dates. You have to consider all of them. Moving the Olympic Games may prove to be more difficult than you'd think.

as most of the muslims coming to the olympics in london will be traveling they can all quit their bitching and do it when they get home...
Thank you for this information, it was just as I thought.

yes, but they were held later in the year when they were in Sydney - and for good reason, too I believe.

If one third of the competitors are unable to compete effectively (just supposing this is the case, as someone has mentioned) then this may be a valid reason for the date to be changed.

There may also be reasons why it can not be changed too - as you suggest - in which case Muslim competitors will need to consider whether it is appropriate to fast if they wish to compete. If I were organising an event where a significant number of potential participants could not attend due to the timing ... I would seriously consider other options ... I have found in the past however that people (including Muslims) are capable of being flexible, if they see it as reasonable.

I think there is a need to look at all factors and come to some consensus - and a sensible decision. That way its all clear and out in the open and no reasonable person will get their knickers in a twist about it.

I understand your views, but I think it was more like one fourth:
