OK, and if you find out that his story was wrong, you may lose precious time. That does matter, doesn't it?

The question was posed, "What proportion of innocent people tortured would you consider acceptable?"

To which I stated, "I don't quantify numbers as an opinion "POLL" as if the War on Terror is about numbers. It's more about how long, 50, 100 years, etc."

Asking a question regarding innocent people being tortured is the wrong quesion. 1) We don't know they are innocent. 2) The War on Terror is less about innocent but more on how long the War on Terror will last. 3) Nobody would desire an innocent person to be harassed or worse.

A question as this is meant to be a comment and confrontation, "What about the innocence?" like there is some conspiracy to harm innocent people. It is a suggestion that is little different than when Groucho Marx asking his guest, "So, have you quit beating your wife yet, yes or no?"

It assumes that one has a desire to harm the innocent.

Torture should be defined. What is considered Torture?
