Slon the point here is seeing the pictures of dead Americans in the streets of Baghdad does not give you any information about how the war is going that you do not get from the statistics of the number of dead. It isn't the information you are after, it is the emotional punch you want. At least have the intellectual honesty to say why you want the pictures. To claim it is for informational purposes simply makes you look, well to be honest not much better than Swoop.

I saw the sniper pictures on Ogrish. IMO I got more information from the videos than I could have by reading about it. Why should I be restricted to the least descriptive information?

Slon look if you want to BS someone else about why you want to have the picture splashed all over the nightly news and they buy it fine, I am not frankly that stupid. We both know there is no information about how the war is going or how your tax dollars are being spent in Iraq you could get from that picture of a dead US soldier on CNN that you can't get from the stories they do regularly on the number of dead, how they died, and interviews with the families that choose to talk to the media.

As to why should they not be shown? Out of respect for the families of those people that are laying on the street. I know you are partisan, but I never figured you for a cold heartless bastard.

Partisan? Is that when I don't support either the Democrats or the Republicans?

I don't really care if the news do it or not. For all I care, the news corporations can make individual decisions not to report on the war at all. However, I definitely don't want to censor it and I also do not feel that it is irresponsible to show the images/videos. Tell me, do you also feel we should avoid showing all of the Abu Ghraib pictures? I mean, the info is enough, right? And we don't want to hurt the reputation of our murderers and torturers, right? Let's not show Holocaust pictures, either. How about it? Do you feel the same way about everything in the category?
