Re: Saddam Hussein sentenced to death

So if Saddam was sentenced to death, will Iraq do like we do here in the USA and feed 'em for 20 years before we kill 'em?

So you can take pleasure in watching someone die? How does that action make you any different from him in that case?

Interesting assertion Sam, despite ALL evidence showing that the death penalty is NOT a deterrent against crime. If that were the case, then there would be no murders in US states that have the death penalty. There would be no drug trafficking in South East Asia. Oh wait, these things still occur in both of the these regions? Could that mean that the death penalty doesn't work?

Yah, but you have to think responsibly and understand that there will be repercussions for making him a martyr.

What's more important? Serving Hussein a cold dish of vengence or making a path for those in Iraq to head towards peace instead of the chaos they are in?

They're killing him for political points because strategy and history dictate that killing him will only inflate the insurgency and will be used by terrorists for their purpose.

I'm not one that cares what terrorists say, but making a martyr out of Hussein will be effective and can only hamper our mission to bring peace to the nation as our kids out there continue to die.

You damn right, but not with Iraq's rules, you have the facts wrong. Kindly recheck.

30 days after an appeal is denied.

Yeah, this is going to help bring our troops home soon. This can only mean more dead troops so Republicans score political points.

Re: Saddam Sentenced to Death

Do you believe the sorry sacks of monkey shit at liberal news outlets are down playing this historic event.
Yahoo news says it’s a republican ploy before the elections and headlines opposition to the verdict over the celebration of what our brave men and women sacrificed there lives for.

Re: Saddam Sentenced to Death

Oh I have no doubt that the decision to end the trial and issue a verdict this weekend was made by the State department. Unfortunately, it's too little too late. And even MORE unfortunately, it will make the situation in Iraq worse not better. Regardless of if you think it was the "independent" Iraqi tribunal who made the decision or not, this will only heighten the violence in the Sunni-Shia Civil War.

What's the problem? It's an article reporting world opinion. Is it that you feel the opinions of foreigners do not count?

Hank doesn't like when Americans have to read or think about what people outside of the United States thinks, it's a wierd conservative tick that I have yet to really figure out.

No it’s not. It’s strategic normalization of a planted anti-American/president Bush minority opinion common in Stalinism.

Because of the socialist control of information outlets, no one knows what world opinion really is. Open your eyes man, there’s no control of events like these correlating to elections. President Bush is an honest and good man.

Stalinism? Socialist control of information? You have been reading too many posts by Kinetic. I keep forgetting that Yahoo is a communist organization. I guess that's because they are a capitalist business.
