Great plan. When you can get the Sunnis and Shia to stop slaughtering one another over their argument about who should have assumed the Caliphate over a millennium ago, it might even work.

I see where you're going and I can accept that.....but many times when war isn't broken out, someone had to swallow a big load....That's the way it is.

Or both sides swallowed. Compromise is the key. It doesn't seem Bush is willing to compromise and therefore, we are fucked.

Just out of curiosity, which parts of Osama Bin Hidin's demands would you compromise with him on?

Would you agree to wear a burkha and never argue with a man, in order to have peace with Islamic fanatics?

I submit to you that some things cannot be compromised.

True...Bush won't compromise, but that doesn't mean we are fucked......Carter and others (including Clinton) were big on compromise and it got us no where.
I believe there is a time and a place for compromising, and then there is a time for action.

No one suggests negotiating with OBL. Your cannard is just partisan rhetoric.

Comprimise of US policy on non-negotiation with Iran? That is a different story entirely - and apparently about to happen (though Georgie is kicking and screaming and throwing a tantrum - "but daddy, I don't want to!").

Kindly indicate where this "we must talk peace with our enemies" excluded Osama Bin Hidin?

Thanks for that blinding flash of the obvious, MM. Iran and OBL are different?!? Wow.

You might have noticed that I was not talking about Iran, MM. Apparently not, but you might have.....

You said we must talk peace with our enemies. Is OBL not our enemy?

Seriously, Sam, can you not discuss anything anymore?

You've made it difficult lately Matt with your partisan attacks. Your posts aren't discussions, they are jabs.

I asked you a question, for pete's sake. How the hell is that a partisan anything?

You said we must talk peace with our enemies and compromise.

I asked what compromise you would make with OBL.

Mad Michael then jumped in with an irrelevant comment about Iran.

Pray tell, what part of that was a "partisan attack"?

Matt

I think I understand where Bush is coming from. I mean, he does have a point. HOWEVER, I do think that talks first would be the most logical. If that doesn't work, then we can cut them off like we did N. Korea. What a mess.

We aren't at war with Osama Bin Forgotten. Bush doesn't think that much about him anymore. We are at war with Sunnis and Shias in Iraq. We are threatening Iran and North Korea. There are no peace talks with any of these enemies. Bush is a war president, he doesn't want to be a peace president.

So you would not talk with OBL, but would with Iran and North Korea?

I agree, but doesn't that conflict with all the flowery quotes you posted?

Me? I thought this thread was about Bush and Blair and how Bush refuses to talk.

Flowery quotes....

Whatever Matt. Obviously you are just here to poke and prod.
