The USA gives Isarel billions in aid each year but Israel is in violation of many UN resolutions. This kind of hipprocacy is exactly the kind of thing that hinders the USA's credibility in trying to stop nations like Iran form getting the bomb. The US needs to stop the bullshit. If they told the truth and said we know Israel has the bomb, they've had it for years and make the case that Isael doesn't exactly call for other nation's destructions as a defence it might go a long way.

Furthermore, the USA needs to give Israel an ultimatum of 1967 borders with new Palestinian state or no more aid. Then you'd be able to see some credibility back on the USA's side. Oh and they need to impeach Bush.

Yes, there was a long story about that in the Jane's military catalogue and in their web pages - I gave the link to that. Actually, early this year there were many news about that (at least in EU). Also, the Israelies make a violent threath to use those bombs against Iran and said that the Americans will support them in all the cases. Certainly that was not in the news in USA, but e.g. BBC reported those news.

This issue has been many times also in the UN, but USA has always stopped the discussion by using its veto rights. This is a real axes of evel ... USA-Israel - nobody can stop those countries to obey international rules.

if one country has nuclear weapons then all countries should have the right to them. why should america or israel be allowed to possess them and not iran or north korea etc? what makes america saner or more trustworthy than any other country? there is just as many religious fundamentalists in america than there is in iran including the respective leaders. iran talks the big talk like wiping israel of the face of the map but they're not actually partaking in destroyng a country or a people like the americans and israelis are doing so succesfully. america and its policies scare me much more than iran scares me and america poses much more of a threat to world security than iran.

It's officially just a rumor, as actual official possession of nuclear weapons would trigger all sorts of sanctions under US law.
All arms shipments and aid would have to stop, under existing US law.
So while there is a "rumor" of an Israeli nuclear capacity, officially Israel has no nukes.

That's because you only choose to see one side of a coin. Ever heard of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. It is in place to prevent additional countries from acquiring nuclear weapons. If these weapons are allowed to proliferate dictators will use them to blackmail the rest of the world.

Because democracies use them as war deterrents. Iran and North Korea would use them to blackmail other countries.

Yes but the religious fundamentalists in the US are as a majority peaceful and out to help eliminate poverty, abuse, and immorality, not concur the world for their god. Plus the US has separation of church and state while Iran is a theocracy. Not to mention that Muslim fundamentalists believe in spreading their faith by sword if necessary. The only religion left on the planet that has not gone through an enlightenment period.

Iran is by no stretch of the imagination a peaceful country. Look at their last 50 years of history. Look at their present talks concerning the legitimacy of the holocaust. It is foolish not to take the Iranian leader at his word. He is bent on destroying Israel.

As far as Israel successfully destroying countries. Every conflict Israel has been in has been started by an Muslim nation. They have a right to defend themselves.

We sent precise missiles to take out a dictator who violated every sanction he had imposed on him by the UN. Since then we have rebuilt what we have destroyed and added schools and other infrastructure in Iraq. I hardly call that destroying a country. I agree. I think the US should be consistent in its treatment of UN resolutions. I also think that Israel and the US should pull out of the UN, since it is obviously biased against both. Regardless, this has nothing to do with the status of Israels nukes, of which there is no proof that they were developed with the aid of the US. There is proof however that they were developed with the aid of France, and that Israel is not a signatory to the NPT, and therefore there is no internatioal law preventing them from developing their own nukes.

Unlike Iran, Iraq, and at one time North Korea, all who blatently thwarted the UN, the NPT, and the IAEA. Yet where was the outcry then? It should also be noted that the US has given lots of aid to those countries as well.

What PIC wrote before is just opposite to the truth. Who has asked Iran to sign NPT and who has said that it is not necessary for Israel to sign it? Americans are amazing in their double standard thinking and it is extremely dangerous to the world. In Europe, according to investigationa, USA is seen the most dangerous country in the world to the global peace and Israel is the second. Iran is far below those countries. This means that the world should work for taking USA and Israel to control - this axes of evel, USA-Israel, has shown to be completely immoral even today - noy only when USA nuked Japan and Israel made the ethnic cleansing from Palestinians. Both countries have frequently attacked independent countries using illegal weapons, tortured and violated international conventions, made genocide and political murders.

Iran is a civilized country compared to those axes-of-evel countries. USA has tremendously helped Israel to obtain nuclear weapons WMDs, cruise missiles and DU bombs which they also used against international law in Lebanon. USA should take the full responsibility for these crimes. But no ... Israel is the country of holly christianity ... whatever they do has a permission from the God - damn!
