Bayh is Out

This kind of bites. He was the only centrist leaning Democrat that had publicly declared he was seriously exploring the idea. That leaves only whackos back in the mix.

Quote:
WASHINGTON — Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana will not seek the presidency in 2008, saying he believes the odds of a successful run were too great to overcome.

"At the end of the day, I concluded that due to circumstances beyond our control the odds were longer than I felt I could responsibly pursue," Bayh told the Indianapolis Star. "This path — and these long odds — would have required me to be essentially absent from the Senate for the next year instead of working to help the people of my state and the nation."

Anyone who thinks Hillary is 'Left' does not either know Hillary or 'Left'.

Only a full blown Communist could consider Hillary a Republican lite.

Only a full blown neocon would consider Hillary a Liberal Extremist.

Sorry to disappoint but I haven't even pretended to believe in communism since I was in my early twenties. And even then it was only because there was this girl . . . . well, you know, those socialist babes are really hot. I would have even believed in creationism if she did.

Re: Bayh is Out

In the NeoCon view, Progressives are 'Communists', simply because they do not understand either movement, and the term 'communist' still inspires some fear.

From what I've seen anything to the left of "slightly conservative" is communist.

Re: Bayh is Out

Back during the Nixon Prez campaign of 1972 (the one managed by CREEP that produced WaterGate), the basic rule was established:
Paint your opponent as so far Left that you can move very far Right.

In the case of McGovern, CREEP (Committee to Re-Elect The President) used various techniques including hiring guys with scraggly beards and long hair ('Hippy Freaks') to jam into camera shots everytime McGovern was televised.

So, for fascism nothing much has changed- tactics-wise .

Re: Bayh is Out

We almost need to post a new poll of likely candidates that people might vote for. Just a little while ago it was conceivable that Al Gore, Bill Frist, Evan Bayh and Mark Warner were all likely candidates, but they've all said they won't run in '08. Right now it kind of looks like Obama and Clinton for the Dems and McCain and Giuliani for the Republicans.
