Nothing here folks but just another malicious angle to bash America
That really sums it up well. As Jviehe has pointed out, the military is meeting all of their recruitment goals. It's into the circular file for this one.....

Some Port Ricans went through basic training when I did back in 82... as you said, nothing new.

There seem to be two schools of thought on this. one says we have enouigh, the other says we don't. I think I prefer to wait until we find out which story is accurate. However, I seem to recall that the services all LOWERED their requirements a couple of months ago to line up with the story that we have enough. and lowered them just enough so that All services were getting just barely enough. Anybody else remember that????

The point I am making here is it is important "why" one serves, not where one is from.

Completion of military service earns instant citizenship for legal residents.
As I understand it, that's not quite true, but they are put on the fast track

Nah - I think there are two schools of thought here though - one fishes the internet for unsubstantiated stories that bash anything America and post it here, the other gets sick of seeing so damn many of them in the public forums.

the 100,000 is based on memory - I did find this: U.S. Citizenship for Military Personnel
But that only talks about legal immigrants..there are/have been foreigners in the US military for years (and other countries do as well, for instance their are Americans serving in Australian military, British military and others)

One could say the huge amounts of support that for instance BlackWater provides in the way of armed asst., logistics and training is out sourcing….

Should I tell him that Puerto Ricans are US citizens?

I agree, but there should be some tough but fair testing. You want to make sure whoever is in your military is going to perform like you would expect an american to perform. Only thing is it is usually right wing conservatives that are against immigration.
