Well, one of the defining characteristics of Dubya's presidency has been stubborn defiance long past the point of wisdom, followed by complete reversals.
Consider: - Starting a homeland security department - The nomination of Harriet Miers - The "resignation" of Donald Rumsfeld - The 9/11 commission - The CIA leak and pursuit of it It seems to just be how he rolls.

What's unfortunate is that when he "stops" so do the investigations. Then he starts it up again in a different form.

I think the investigations only stop with a Republican majority. Let's see if the Democrats can bring a criminal to justice.
