Hillary Clinton: "I'm in to win"

Quote:
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton Announces White House Bid

Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has made it official, announcing "I'm in" for the 2008 presidential race on her Web site.

The former first lady acknowledged her plans to take the first step of forming a presidential exploratory committee.

"I'm not just starting a campaign, though. I'm beginning a conversation with you, with America," Clinton says in her web message. She announced that she will be holding live, on-line video conferences with Americans starting Monday.

"Let's talk about how to bring the right end to the war in Iraq, and to restore respect for America around the world," she said.

There you have it folks. She's officially in the race.

Personally I think she's doing it just to get back at Bill. She wants to go around in Air Force-1 and leave him at home to take care of the holiday decorations!

On a more serious note, I don't think she has a chance of becoming the next president. So I really hope she get's the democratic nomination.

Re: Hillary Clinton: "I'm in to win"

Frankly at this point I am thinking way down the road……will Hillary actually be worse than say Obama or Edwards?

Her husband leaned with the political winds though it disgusted his adherents an true believers ( welfare reform etc.)……..Hillary is not stupid…I believe, if, she becomes pres. and there’s a rep. senate or house or both, she’ll do the saem…where in, Edwards and obama, I don’t see them bowing to the inevitable……and in fact may be worse..as they may be truer ideologues than hill…..just throwing that out there..I shudder at having another Clinton in the white house but frankly, I see her more as a Rodham than I do Clinton, though admittedly I believe she had a greater hand in running policy in Clintons term that we may know….

IMO, The major task for any Democratic Presidential canidate is to bridge the gap betweent the far left and the conservative democrates and "moderates". Hilliary is their best best to do this because of her icon status bestowed on her by the media during the Clinton scandals.

Anyone who runs to her left will demotivate the conservative democrates and lose the middle to the republicans.

Hillary is the best bet the dems have.

Certainly Hillary will be a strong candidate, but she's too fake.

It would be nice to have a woman in the White House, but not her!

If Hillary's the best they have, then look for a Republican President in 2008!

Hillary has so many skeletons in her closet, and so many decisions on her records, and so many quotes in her past, that she is going to spend most of her time on defense.

But wait! I dont expect most of the media to actually challenge her stances. FOX will of course, but I dont remember her ever going on FOX. No doubt shell stick to CNN or Barbara Walter or Oprah where she can get the coverage she wants.

THis is going to be the biggest mudfest yet.

You guys have been dragging her through the mud for the last six years at least. Do your worst.

I probably won't vote for her in the primaries.

Haha goes to show how strong your will is in the Democratic party then! Look at what the fuck you guys have said about George Bush and yet look how loyaly the GOP stands behind him, or has to this point and how loyal he has been to various people! I guess we should just get scared and nominate John McCain in return for a like to like match up! The minute she wins the nomination is the minute we retain the Presidency! Her announcing her running is great news, now we can start to figure out the proccess of which Republican will suceed George Bush. Its gonna be Rudi i think, with Condi as VP i think or maybe one of the U.S. attorney's in the day of prosecutorial career.

How is Rudy any different than Hillary?

Re: Hillary Clinton: "I'm in to win"

He's a Republican for a start...

Anyway its his leadership skills that define the person he is. Sure socially he and i may differ but in the times we live in i'd be willing to sacrifice the fact that he may take people's guns away (something i'm not altogether worried about as i'll always be allowed to carry mine) but he will keep us safe. Also he's in favor of a smaller government and lower taxes. Also doesn't believe that drilling in Anwar and free trade is bad!

A Hillary candidacy is not a lock for the GOP. She could win if a strong third party candidate enters the race and siphons enough votes from the Republican to allow her to win states she would not have. That's how Bill beat Bush 41. It wouldn't surprise me if that exact scenario would come into play again.
