read up to page 20 and continuing. so far it basically highlights that the canadian government, the RCMP, and the US government (and its related agencies) were negligent, and their actions completely illegal and unwarranted. oh, and the canadian government, upon arar's return, prepared reports downplaying the incident and leaked confidential and inaccurate information in order to damage arar's reputation.

Ahhh it never fails... if we aren't at war or torturing people, we are bribing people to cover for our errors...

I would cry about it, sure. However, it would be a big, big mistake (unless the goal is to turn the ENTIRE Middle East into a war zone) for the US to touch Syria. They've got no capability to do anything, they just like to beat their chest. Let them and people can see how stupid they are. If you threaten them, it backfires and makes you come of as being warmongering, imperialistic conquerers. Hardly an image the US wants, right (even though some think you're already there...)?

And who are the "leftoland" assholes exactly? Syria? The guy, who got tortured? Liberals? I know it's hard to admit mistakes, but you should try it sometime, it really cleanses the soul But of course, how dare that guy being pissed of at being tortured for no reason. The nerve...

They had the capability to torture Arar, now didn't they. So why are you defending that leftoland?

Blah Blah. They will say that regardless of what we do so that is simply irrelevant. They are a leftoland country, remember??? Truth means nothing in leftoland. They will always blame their failures on the USA and Israel, anything but their own failed Marxist system.

Yes.

Syria is as leftoland. In leftoland individuals have no rights. They can LEGALLY do whatever the fuck they want to an individual in leftoland.

Understand or no? Or did that go way the fuck over your head AGAIN?

I'm in the mood for sloppy joe's. I don't know what it is about discussing torture that makes me hungry.

Then if a mistake was made, it should be acknowledged. It appears that this man was treated unfairly. I would like to know a lot more about the facts of the case. Why was he arrested in the first place? But if he really is innocent, then obviously that is a serious injustice.

As for This is the reason the rest of the world thinks Americans are arrogant, it seems a bit extreme to blame 300 million people for this. That seems to be taking anti-Americanism too far, even for you.

Apparently he was a Syrian and Canadian citizen. Canada didn't want him in their country. So the US deported him to Syria, whose leftist government was probably all to happy to get a hold of him, and make an example out of him.

In leftolands an individual is not allowed to leave without permission. An individual is tacitly considered to be property of the State. And since individuals are nothing but property they can legally torture you all they want.

Any site called USPoliticsOnline is naturally going to attract alot of anti-American zealots. And of course many from outside the US will try to pass themselves off as American.

The guy's name basically showed up on some list, but aside from that, that's all the authorities had. America had him extradicted from Canada and sent to Syria on not only faulty intelligence, but no intelligence. That's why Canada has had to fork out the dough. The American gov't seldom ever apologizes for it's mistakes; only it's artists do.

No. He was extradited from New York City, JFK airport to be specific. NYC is in the USA, not Canada.

He was not extradited from Canada.

The USA cannot extradite people from Canada.

BTW, where did you hear he was extradited from Canada? Who told you that?

Sorry, I misread that, it was a line about a visit he got from a consul from Canada. However, people are extradited back and forth all the time. It's part of our friendly ties. It's not an order, so much as a friendly arrangement. But they do happen.

They can, to extradite someone applies to both sides as a term
