Finally,

For those who believe that capitalism is some sort of silver bullet against fascism, or authoritarianism in general, I reference the US South under the slave system, or today's equivalent- China.

Re: NPR and PBS facing more budget cuts, don't let it happen~!

NPR and PBS generally propagandize from the liberal point of view. As such, they are being rejected in the market place.

Accordingly, they have two choices:

(1) clean up their Leftist act, or

(2) continue to suffer declining revenue and viewership

Re: NPR and PBS facing more budget cuts, don't let it happen~!

Yes he is, I just spent the last 15 minutes watching that video. First rate. The funniest thing is, when I come across neocons who think he is for real! My co-worker the other day said, America is losing it's culture because of the Mexicans over-running us. Stephen Colbert said so. I laughed so hard!!!! I told him number one: America's culture is a melting pot of all cultures. Number 2, Colbert is satire!!!! He looked shocked. In another thread the other day Chassisman made the same mistake quoting Colbert about something else. It's way too funny when these guys quote the man who is mocking their very opinion and they don't even realize it. WOW!

To the contrary, Hans Blix of the UN Inspectors,

Hans Blix is NOT an intelligence agency.

The French, The Germans, even the Czechs all knew what we were telling the world (re:WMD's)was just bullshit.
got any links because this smells like more liberal lies.

Quote:

As Blix said, 'Why else did they (US) have to show us drawings instead
of actual photos of WMD labs?'
As I said Blix is not an intelligence agency. As a matter of fact he isn't even an expert in the intelligence field.

Quote:
Even 'we' knew it. Coilin Powell and Condeleeza Rice were both (independenly) taped by US Media saying that Iraq had no WMD's, and 'could not even project power in the region' in Summer, 2001.
Links or lies?

Quote:
But the US media repeated the lies ('Curve Ball', for christ's sake??!!) because they are owned by 4-5 corporations who would and did make a helluva lot of $$ from a war.
Links or lies?

PBS, of course, was largely muzzeled.
That was one of my early points about them. They are compromised more so than the "legitimate" new orgs.

Here's the gist of the Tomilnson/Moyers fued.

Almost as funny as the lefties that take Colbert seriously.

Good. What kind of American wants there tax dollars going to anti-American promotion, 60’s era God is dead Darwinism normalization, anti-capitalism, neo-environmental activism and porn: The annual independent film festival that premiered controversial films containing a sexual assault of a minor and bestiality in 2007, received tax dollars for its presentation this year.
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) gave between $100,000 and $249,000 to help underwrite the festival. The Public Broadcasting System (PBS) also added between $50,000 and $99,000.
