Stripey,

Anyone who knows what their NOT reporting knows that MSNBC is just another Fox-lite.

No Left or right to it.

The media are merely subsidiaries of multi-national megaconglomerates and the moneyed elite, by virtue of the fact that they want to remain in power--and gather unto themselves more of same!--are fundamentally conservative.

We have no fundamental disagreement, though: Their attitude comes from selfishness...NOT politics.

That's interesting.

I never considered the destruction of our justice system "fun", much less "too much fun"

Even at the height of the Clinton fiasco, I never considered a second of it "fun". And I detest the man.

Re: Republicans Call For Gonzales' Resignation

The fun part is watching those who are destroying the justice system be brought to jutsice.

Thanks, Sam. As usual, Larsen misses the entire point...

I must agree, I am as interested as anyone else in seeing the situation righted, But I could hardly consider if "FUN" let alone "TOO MUCH FUN>" that is a rather goulish attitude.

I love your lesson on the Iran- Contra Affair. Don't forget the part about how Congress was funding the Contras to the tune of $300Million in the 80's and that the US supplied arms to Iran through Israel 5 years after the embassy hostages were released. The hostages that were the supposed target of the Iranian arms sales were the 30 taken by Hezbollah, not Iran. The hope was that Inan would intercede and get their release. Your timeline is waaaaaaayy off....but thanks for the amusing story.

I find justice being done, thrilling and exciting and riveting. Especially when it involves an administration that's well known for it's lies and deceit. When powerful bad guys get busted, I rejoice. I don't know what you guys find wrong with that. But it seems pretty logical to me.

Re: Republicans Call For Gonzales' Resignation

The Smoking Gun..?

In March of 2006, Attorney General I. D. N. Recall signed a highly confidential order designating former aides Kyle Sampson and Monica Goodling extraordinary authority over the hiring and firing of non-civil service employees of the Justice Department. The revelation of this order by Murray Waas of the National Review, hints at a number of things:
  • The purge of eight US attorneys was the beginning of a MUCH broader installation of radical rightwing party loyalists.
  • The reason for Monica's extreme reaction of a blanket Fifth Amendment plea.
  • A partial explanation for Gonzo's spate of memory lapses during his testimony.
  • An extensive end-run around Senate confirmation for partisan purposes.
  • Planned White House intervention while leaving NO Rove fingerprints.

Gonzo's return to Capitol Hill just got TWICE as interesting! Who knows what else might emerge before then..?

If justice was truly being done, Ted Kennedy would be a convict, not a senator. Both Hillary and Bill would be wearing stripes as would at least 1/2 of the world's politicians. I'd love to be an idealist, but I live in the real world. Enjoy Never Neverland while it lasts, Sam.

Doniston, while I have the utmost respect for your opinions here I have to say that, after all these years of being called a traitor and a supporter and an empowerer of terrorists- not to mention a lover and worshiper of the likes of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden by the supporters of those in office who are now being called to account for their policies and actions- I have to side with Samantha, AOM and Stripey1 here. I positively relish seeing the culpable parties and those that supported them getting their due- in the courts, in the Senate and in the court of public opinion. Am I enjoying this, and do I find it "fun"?
You damn right I do!!! But that's not the same as saying that I am enjoying what has happened to our country. I just happen to enjoy watching ignorant assholes being force-fed a ton of crow!

It is so pathetic how RepubliCONS can never say, "Hey if there are crooked rats in our party bring them to justice too">

Instead it is ...What about Bill Clinton? Well no one in history had there life combed over more than Bill Clinton. Ken Star's witchhunt caught him cheating with Monica. I will not discount this or defend it it, but you can't begin to compare it with the Crimes of the Bush administration.

You say Clinton should be jail for what? Travelgate? He fire his travel dept.

Whitewater? Starr spend what $50 million and found nothing and this was an investigation of a land deal that happened before he was even president.

Quit blaming Clinton for everything that ever happened.

Open your eyes this is the most corrupt Administration in history, joining the other Republican ethicly challenged administrations of Bush/Reagan (Iran/Contra), Nixon (Watergate), Harding (Teapot Dome) and the very corrupt Grant Administration.

Did you bother to read my post? I said that if "justice" was truly being done 1/2 of the politicians in the world would be in jail. Does that sound like I'm only targeting the Democratic party?

Don't forget FDR, the father of American Socialism and LBJ, his disciple.

Next time you want to take shots at people, bring a loaded gun with a sight. Your scattergun approach isn't working.
