Re: Republicans Call For Gonzales' Resignation

AND THEN THERE WERE FIVE...

Despite agressive lying by Tony Snowjob, it seems that the radical right is bailing on Alberto wholesale. This brings us back to the main topic of this thread: Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Bigot) has also called for the resignation of the Attorney General.

Meanwhile, the house has offered to allow Turdblossom Rove, Harriet Miers and the Man Of The Hour, Mr, Gonzales himself, to testify behind closed doors, without a transcript and NOT under oath.

Think they might possibly be hiding something?

And do you think Pat Leahy is coing to sit still for this bait-and-switch?

Consider, however that the Senate voted 94-2 this afternoon to close that Patriot Act provision which allowed these partisan firings to occur in the beginning. That's a pretty clear indication of how radioactive Gonzo has become AMONG REPUBLICANS, wouldn't you say? There is also going to be a Presidential proclamation tonight...and if he says he has "every confidence" in his AG, then you'll know Alberto's in the deep doodoo.
I was doing other things today so I didn't know of the senate action. All I can say about it now is "GOOD" And if the House follows along at that pace. it can't be vetoed.

Hopefully not.

This is simply delicious!

As much as I dislike rove, I think he may get out of this one too... I don't think the emails were generated by him, they only talk about him... tho... once he's on the stand and under oath...

Frankly, I wouldn't be too disappointed if Gonzalez stayed on and served as an albatross around Bush's neck. If he resigns, we can't count on Bush to replace him with anyone who has some serious integrity.
whoever bush comes up with will HAVE TO BE APPROVED by the senate...

Amen to that, goober. A new wind has begun to blow...

I would call what BushCo did an attempt to obstruct justice.
All those emails point to a conspiracy to obstruct justice...

sure... if they've done wrong they should be investigated. If they have done nothing but beat the crap out of their republican rival in a fair election, then no.

Back atcha, hairball... Do you think the DOJ should investigate alledged crimes by Republicans?

Yes, I knew Lam, dogged persistent little patriot that she is, was getting set to drop a bomb on Lewis...who is a maximum scumbag...but this CIA connection just blew me away. We're talking explicit obstruction of justice here. And it's connected DIRECTLY to the White House inner circle. This is a HUGE development.

Oh, and don't worry about me; I can handle half a dozen forum losers like THAT before breakfast. In my bathrobe...

All we need now is for President Loser to come out and explain how he's got "every confidence" in his beleagured Attorney General...then we'll know for sure that he's doomed. The only thing that needs to be kept in mind at this point is that if he REALLY took down Carol Lam for seeking search warrants against CIA officials--as I reported earlier on this thread--then that is th very definition of obstruction of justice. And if he plotted with anybody to do it, THAT's conspiracy.

These actions are both (say it with me!) AGAINST THE LAW...
And conspiracy is a lot easier to prove than say, outing a covert CIA agent... Who will be the prosecutor? Fitzgerald?
