Washington police arrest christian protesters

Bush is losing his Christian base little by little

Participants marched with battery-operated faux candles through snow and wind toward the White House, where police began arresting protesters shortly before midnight. Protest guidelines require demonstrators to continue moving while on the White House sidewalk.

Re: Washingto police arrest christian protesters

No doubt Bush will go down in at least the bottom 10 worst presidents in history.

Not just the war, his list of failures, both domestic and foriegn are loooong.

I just hope the next President/Administration is better.

Re: Washingto police arrest christian protesters

I'll stick to the OP here.

An excerpt from the article...
Quote:
Afterward, participants marched with battery-operated faux candles through snow and wind toward the White House, where police began arresting protesters shortly before midnight. Protest guidelines require demonstrators to continue moving while on the White House sidewalk.

"We gave them three warnings, and they broke the guidelines," said Lt. Scott Fear. "There's an area on the White House sidewalk where you have to keep moving."
Looks to me like they broke the law after they were given more than ample warnings. In fact, I do not think they even need to be given warnings, so that was very nice of the officers.

So, wooyarn, how is this Bush's fault? Your comment of Bush loosing his Christian base, leads me to believe that you think Bush had them arrested or had something to do with this. When in fact, this is a law that was put in place LONG before Bush became president, no?

IMHO most of the front runners are not worth my vote, I'm more inclined to look closer at the others. I agree that these things are getting to close together and 24/7 will only hurt the canadates and the country.
I for one am sick and tired of seeing this country so divided along the party lines.

I never said it was Bush's fault, he wasn't even there. And yes it is the Law and they did have fair warning, I don't agree with the Law but I have and will continue to support the Laws of this land. My commit about Bush losing some of his christian base was based on the commits of some of the protesters that they once supported Bush and his policies and now do not support them.
I am a registered Independant and do not support either party completely nor do I disagree with either party completely. I do my own thinking.

The law is in place for the safety of the President of the United States of America.

OH, sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought that you were saying that he was loosing his base due to these arrests.

Many Christians voted against him and do not like him. As for "finally seeing the light" well at least they just didn't start with a dislike and then wait for actions to justify their beliefs. I give them more credit than those that just hated him and couldn't wait to see "mistakes".

Do you think I started with a dislike, as if I were a psychic and knew what a slime Bush was before he even began? That's pretty funny. How do you come up with this stuff?

That was a joke right? Because many "christians" have opposed w's war from day one. The idea that "christians" support w is a myth propagated by a tiny minority affiliated with the radical right wing organizations of ralph reed, pat robertson, and jerrry falwell.

Re: Washingto police arrest christian protesters

Question is did 'Christians" ever support Bush?

Yes, the fundamentalist Protestants did. But they are hardly representitive of all 'Christians'.
