Yet another UN Scandal

I'm Shocked!!!!

Quote:
U.N. Officials Knew Earlier of N. Korea Fake Currency

As federal investigators examine how the leading U.N. agency in North Korea illegally kept 35 counterfeit American $100 bills in its possession for 12 years, documents indicate that more officials were aware of the existence of the fake currency — and earlier — than the agency has reported.
It appears as the the United Nation's agency in North Korea not only knew about the counterfeit money, but aided in illegally keeping 35 counterfeit $100 bills and didn't inform the United States to provide evidence for an investigation.

The United Nations should immediately fire everyone involved in this scandal, and revoke immunity and then the United States should cut off the funding to the agency that has been involved in some of the most lucrative scandals in history. The United Nations continues to fill their pockets with the money that is supposed to be used for those who are oppressed.

Ditto here... where's the beef?

No real scandal here. I'm sure the mafia has more than $3500 in counterfeit money in their safe.

If they find printing presses or digital printers full of $100's then maybe we've got something.

And, once again, the libs voice their unwavering support for the United Nations, regardless of the fact that this is criminal behavior...

Re: Yet another UN Scandal

If it's criminal behaviour - and I'm asking, not being difficult - which statutes apply and is extra-territoriality an issue?

You can`t trust an association where states like North-korea, Iran and Cuba are Members.

I don't know of the statute, although I'm sure something exists which would address this kind of thing. Basically, you've got a world body (the UN) which appears to be complicit in an illegal activity; counterfeiting. They don't need to print it to be complicit. Just holding it, when they know it's counterfeit, is illegal, and it's illegal in every country on the planet...

Well when the US govn opens an office for the mafia in downtown NY and offer them subsidies to function then get back to us ok. Until then lets concern ourselves with american tax money funding this corrupt organization.

I don't know what you are talking about. This "scandal" is utterly ridiculous. There really are a lot of aspects of the UN that well worth criticizing. But this outcry about "another UN scandal" is just pathetic. I mean, what's the next big outrage .... Kofi's unpaid parking tickets?

Re: Yet another UN Scandal

Malvolio, the Republicans have nothing else to complain about while their party is a sinking ship, might as well pretend there is a big scandal about a few thousand fake dollars in the UN. Oh and Nancy Pelosi is on a diplomatic trip in the Middle East, how horrible!

Nothing else to do? What about the oil-for-food scandal? The pussy-for-food rape scandals that continue to happen? Now, there is a federal crime [in the United States anyway] and the United Nations knew about it, hid it and allowed it to continue .. and you say this is just a few thousand dollars? How much more has slipped by?
