The military released a video of her rescue, they did not tell the media to talk about it for a week and turn her into a hero. Find me official sources in the military that sensationalized their stories and I might agree with you. But there is no evidence of that as of yet, as that article explains.
Speaking as someone who actually knows the Tillman family, you couldn't be more wrong. They're good people who just want the military to come clean about what happened. Ya know, that thing called accountability. I don't see how that can be perceived as a vicious agenda. In fact, it really makes me sick that its being portrayed as such, or even hinted at.

I never said it was a vicious agenda, but what they are stating is obvisouly not consistant with the facts. They are simply not in a position to make claims about things they know nothing about. They have their viw, the military has its view. The facts are that Tillman was killed by friendly fire in the Fog of War. The media latched on to his celebrity story, the military played along. It simply isnt fair to blame the military alone, when it is the media that exponentially exacerbated the situation. Tillman, regardless of anything, was a hero, as are the millions of others in the military, from the grunts to the generals. Congress, and the Tillmans, and the media, and the military should all stop playing politics and recognize that.

How exactly do you know the Tillman family?

JV, the media ran with what the military gave them. It wasn't til MUCH later, when the military was FORCED to come clean, that they did. You're attempted spin is SO VERY FUCKING LAME!!!!

I will agree, however, that the so-called liberal media does share some complicity, in that, by & large, they've been administration lap-dogs instead of vicious attack dogs. . .

Sorry, it isn't a case of conflicting views. It's pretty obvious that the military covered up key facts that they felt would hurt a story that would stir up sentiment for the war. I agree that the media shares some blame for running with a story without questioning anything, but that doesn't exempt people in the military who covered up the truth. I see no moral basis where anyone could argue to the contrary.

I know the Tillman family because I grew up in the same neighborhood. I never hung out with Pat or his brother much (they're a little younger than me), but I know his mom because my mother and her know each other well. My mom taught them in high school, too. Everyone who knows them knows that they are good people.

How can they be good people? They're godless atheists!
