Re: Charges against Luis Posada Cariles dropped.

That explains why terrorists like Ann Coulter are free to walk the streets. I think that anyone who steals elections and befriends Liberals like JFK Jr., obviously for th esake of destroying their influence, and gets us into the biggest mess in American history is a terrorist.

There is now no excuse not to deport this man so he can face trial for his alleged terrorist activity.

sooo, it follows then that lets say, Mexico should return a cop killer for instance here to the US for trial?

I don't know what case you are referring to, but yes, if someone kills a cop here, then flees to Mexico, they should absolutely return him. Why should they not?

Actually, lots of countries that have banned the death penalty, which is basically every country on the list until you get to down to Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Somalia and the United States, don't allow extradition where the accused would face the death penalty.

But the US doesn't have any such law, and Venezuela hasn't had the death penalty since 1863.

Re: Charges against Luis Posada Cariles dropped.

This is nothing new. The "War on Terror" is just a political ploy. The US has nothing against "terrorists" in general, just against ANTI-AMERICAN terrorists. American leaders are more than happy to support terrorists in Afghanistan, for instance. Just as long as they aren't fighting against Americans.

Someone should tell them that bad press can be prevented by not abusing prisoners in the first place. Censorship is only needed to preserve the good reputation of those who have tortured and/or murdered already.

They won't because of the death penalty.

No, they refused to do it at one point also because he faced "life" in prison...

Re: Charges against Luis Posada Cariles dropped.

I'm not entirely convinced that we should look to Mexico for instruction on how to operate in a just manner.

Bush turned to Vicente Fox to ensure that his Operation Jump Start would be up to snuff.
